Arika Jaura

Arika in the Melbourne CBD. This is a still, taken from an all-video shoot.

The Arika Jaura shoot was really about trying to shoot video in the (Melbourne) city, in the evening, amid the bustle. There's a lot of street photography in the world but not a lot of street videography, which is why I've been working on a Melbourne Street Video project. The plan was to add a staged model into the scene at various points, and to do this with a few different models. I didn't love the outcome of this shoot, didn't love the styling/outfit (my fault), I’m just feeling my way with the idea and haven’t yet nailed it. This shoot was 100% video, in pretty tough light, some of which light I chose poorly. The shot above is a still, pulled from the video. The grade is a bit odd but it comes up pretty well and is frankly amazing given that it’s just one frame of 60fps.

Video is here: Model Arika Jaura filmed in Melbourne.
