In 2020 Campbell Mattinson won – as the writer/director – the Best Film Award at the St Kilda Film Festival in the Regional Category.
As a photo-journalist he was named by The Independent as the Australian Young Writer of the Year in 1995. In 1996, he won the prized Best Australian Sports Writing Award. He is the author of the award-winning book The Wine Hunter, and of the best-selling novel We Were Not Men (Fourth Estate, 2021).
Campbell Mattinson is the former editor of Halliday Magazine, and the former Chief Editor of Halliday Wine Companion. He’s the only person to have won the Australian Wine Communicator of the Year Award twice.
Campbell Mattinson has worked full-time in the media since the late 1980s.
